My Father The Judge

Crafted Pairings: My Father The Judge + Maple Old Fashioned

My Father The Judge

Bold meets balanced.

The My Father Cigars The Judge is a full-bodied cigar with deep, layered character and was named Cigar Aficionado’s Cigar of the Year in 2024. Rich earth, dark spice, cedar, leather, and a touch of sweetness build throughout the smoke, creating a bold experience that rewards a slow pace.

For this edition of Crafted Pairings, we paired The Judge with a Maple Old Fashioned. Bourbon brings warmth and depth, while maple syrup adds a touch of sweetness and orange and cinnamon brighten the finish.

The cocktail’s rich bourbon character stands up to The Judge without competing with it. Maple complements the cigar’s subtle sweetness, while orange and cinnamon add a bright, aromatic contrast to its darker notes.

The result is a pairing that brings together boldness, warmth, sweetness, and spice — with each sip and draw adding another layer to the experience.

Best enjoyed on a cool evening or whenever you’re settling in for a slow, full-bodied smoke.

How to Make It

• 2 oz Bourbon
• 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
• 3 dashes Orange Bitters
• 1 dash Cinnamon
• Splash of Water
• Orange Peel
• Orange Slice
• Luxardo Cherries

Mix the bourbon, maple syrup, orange bitters, cinnamon, and a splash of water until combined. Pour over large ice cubes.

Cut a coin-sized piece of orange peel, avoiding the white pith. Hold it skin-side down over the drink and gently pinch to release the citrus oils. Rub the peel around the rim, then drop it into the glass.

Garnish with an orange slice and Luxardo cherries.
