Crafted Pairings: Casa Carrillo Allegiance + Cuba Libre
A classic meets Cuban roots.
This Crafted Pairing brings together the Casa Carrillo Allegiance and a classic Cuba Libre.
The Casa Carrillo Allegiance is a full-bodied cigar with a rich, layered profile of earth, cedar, spice, and subtle sweetness. Named the #5 Cigar of the Year on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 list, the blend also earned an impressive 94-point score in regular blind tastings outside of the year-end awards.
The Cuba Libre keeps things simple with rum, fresh lime, and cola. The combination also offers a nod to the Cuban roots of legendary master blender, Ernesto Perez-Carrillo Jr.

The Cuba Libre is an easygoing companion to the Casa Carrillo Allegiance. Its combination of rum, cola, and fresh lime creates a refreshing contrast to the cigar’s rich, full-bodied character, complementing its layers of earth, cedar, spice, and sweetness.
As the pairing develops, the refreshing citrus keeps the palate lively between draws, while the rum and cola provide enough warmth and depth to stand alongside the Allegiance without overpowering it.
Flavor Bridge
Rum • cola • lime • earth • cedar • spice • sweetness
Best enjoyed when you want a great cigar and an easy cocktail without overcomplicating things.
━━━━━━━━━━
How to Make It
• 2 oz Bacardi Gold Rum
• 1 Lime Wedge
• Preferred Cola, to top
• 2–3 Lime Wheels
Fill a highball glass with ice and add the rum. Squeeze the juice from ¼ of a lime into the glass and drop in the spent peel. Top with your preferred cola and garnish with lime wheels.
What sets a Cuba Libre apart from a traditional Rum & Coke is the addition of fresh lime. The lime balances the cola’s sweetness and adds a bright citrus note, while the richer, lightly oaked character of Bacardi Gold gives the cocktail added depth.
