Tabacaleras Unidas: Cigars For Everyone

Christian Eiroa, the founder of Tabacaleras Unidas, is a man on a mission. Christian, a veteran of the cigar industry, first struck gold with Camacho cigars. Camacho, known for its bold flavor and strength, grew into a powerful company under Christian’s careful tutelage. Once he sold the company to Davidoff in 2008, Christian took a short break from the cigar industry. While most would have been satisfied with helping to establish one successful company, Christian had bigger and brighter ambitions. In 2012, he made a triumphant return to the cigar world by launching Tabacaleras Unidas. In less than a year, Tabacaleras Unidas has become wildly successful offering a wide variety of cigars to meet the needs of today’s dynamic cigar market.

CLE Corojo 11/18

Tabacaleras Unidas features four unique lines, each with their own distinct, one of kind theme and flavor. The flagship of Tabacaleras Unidas is CLE. An acronym of Christian Eiroa’s full name, CLE features three cigar lines that target traditional cigar smokers. With classic sizes and outstanding quality, CLE is known for great balanced flavor and wonderful construction. CLE begins with the mild, yet flavorful CLE Connecticut. Taking advantage of Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with Honduran binder and filler, this cigar is built to have the creamy, buttery notes of most Connecticut wrapped cigars and the fuller, bolder notes found in medium bodied cigars. The next cigar in the CLE portfolio features the wonderful and flavorful Corojo wrapper. CLE Corojo is a medium full bodied cigar with a palate reviving peppery beginning and a delightfully complex semi-sweet finish with a dash of cinnamon. The use of Corojo tobacco with Honduran binder and filler makes the CLE Corojo a favorite among medium and full bodied smokers who enjoy a dynamic cigar. While the CLE Corojo is known for its pepper notes, the CLE Cuarenta is best described as a smooth and sweet medium bodied cigar. Tribute to Christian’s 40th birthday, CLE Cuarenta is a Honduran Puro with smooth hints of coffee and cedar with a slight pepper finish.

The Large and Unusual Asylum 13 Ogre

The next cigar under the Tabacaleras Unidas banner is known as Asylum and Asylum 13 . Meaning sanctuary, both cigars are designed to remind the enthusiast that cigar smoking is a refuge from the rigors of everyday life. Available in 4 sizes ranging from Petite Corona to Gigante, Asylum is Nicaraguan puro with a classic profile of earth, cocoa, and coffee with a mild pepper finish. For a step up in body, Asylum 13 is a Nicaraguan puro created completely for those who enjoy a large ring gauge cigar. Starting with a 60 ring gauge and moving all the way up to an 80 ring gauge, Asylum 13 is a full bodied cigar with notes of pepper, earth, and dark chocolate.

Wynwood Cigars

Wynwood, which can be considered Tabacaleras Unidas most concept driven cigar, is inspired by the Wynwood district of Miami. The Wynwood district has developed into a major cultural center for the city of Miami. Embodying the district’s artistic spirit, Wynwood is a delicately balanced medium bodied cigar with notes of cedar and hay with lively pepper undertones.

Edgar Hoill Group

EH Cigars, the most recent addition to Tabacaleras Unidas, is a collaborative effort between Edgar Hoill and Christian Eiroa. Edgar, a renowned photographer, made a splash in the cigar world with One Shot One Kill. With EH Cigars, he continues this trend by crafting a full bodied, full flavored, Nicaraguan puro with great notes of earth and spice with a mild sweetness.

With diverse and unique lines focused on flavor and quality, Tabacaleras Unidas is clearly Christian’s Magnum Opus to the cigar world. By building the company from the ground up, he has been able to create a company that is dedicated to providing consistent cigars that meet the current trends of the cigar industry. All of us here at Emerson’s Cigars are proud to carry these quality cigars at all 5 of our Hampton Roads locations as well as emersonscigars.com.
