Cain F premiered last year with the promise of being an ultra strong yet powerfully flavorful cigar. And good golly Miss Molly, is it ever. The “F” stands for “fuerte,” which, if you haven’t remembered a lick of Spanish since high school, means “strong.” A straight ligero, this cigar is full flavored and full bodied. Some people use the phrase “cream of the crop” but in the cigar world, substitute “ligero” for “cream” and now you’re talkin’. Ligero is the top of the tobacco plant that receives the most sunlight and greedily soaks up the most nutrients. This accounts for that powerful, tantalizing bite to the Cain F.
So now imagine you take all that power and magically harness the “sweet spot” that Nub so famously executes. You’ve got one bad mutha fuerte. I must say that with all the buzz last year of Sam Leccia releasing his Cain series in a Nub size, this was the one I was most excited for. The Cain F Nub is available now at Emerson’s Cigars in two sizes, the 460 (4.5 X 60) and 464 (4.5 X 64). Single sticks go for around seven bucks. Some say the strength of the F overpowers the flavor profile but I disagree. This is one of those sticks that demands your attention and rewards you with intricacies of tastes you’ve never experienced. Right on, Sam.
