5th Annual Montecristo Golf Classic Recap
We would like to thank everyone that came out for the 5th Annual Montecristo Golf Classic The weather was perfect and the scores were low! The winning group of Eric Lobach, Mike Phillips, Sanjay Patel and Dan Stevens shot an 18 under 54 to win by 2 strokes. Second place went to last year’s winning group of Bobby Tolbert, John Harrington, Jim Vreeland and Darrel Bergeron with a score of 56. Third Place went to Shawn O’Brien, Neil Burnette, David Del Vecchio and Tom Bailey with a score of 56. The Closet to the Pin Award went to Jay Rickles, who hit a great shot to less than 3 feet on the par 3 4th hole. Of course, he missed the putt, but his partner managed to knock it in for the team’s birdie. The Longest Drive Award went to Craig Moore, who hit an absolutely amazing drive of approximately 325 yards on the par 5 18th hole.
We again would like to thank our sponsor, Altadis USA, the world’s largest cigar maker, who provided all the great cigars we enjoyed during the day. Joining us from Altadis USA were Brad Winstead: Mid-West Regional Sales Manager, Jill Myers: South Region Sales Manager, Gene Tipton: Vice President of Sales for Premium Cigars, and Rob Norris: Sales and Trade Director.
We would also like to thank our additional sponsors, SunTrust Investment Services, Pooley Mahoney Law Firm, Havana Nights, Ntrust Wealth Management, Cedar Creek Construction, Keagan’s Restaurants, Safeguard, Independent Lighting and the Town Point Club for supporting the tournament. And a big thanks to the staff at Cahoon Plantation and Winston’s Catering for helping to make the tournament run as smoothly as it did. The course was in amazing shape and the pin placements were set up to offer a great challenge for all the golfers.
This year’s tournament was not only a lot of fun, but we raised some money for Building For America’s Bravest. Building For America’s Bravest is a charitable organization which builds SmartHomes for wounded service members. Each SmartHome is custom designed on a case-by-case basis which addresses the needs of providing energy efficiency, ease of accessibility and automation to ultimately provide the most severely injured military personnel with the capability to live more independent lives.
