La Duena<\/a> is a new release from My Father Cigars Inc. The cigar, which means “the owner” in Spanish, is named in honor of Don Pepin Garcia’s daughter Janny Garcia. La Duena is the result of collaboration between Pete Johnson of Tatuaje Cigars and Janny Garcia. The cigar is best described as a medium bodied cross between Pete’s La Casita line and the Jamie Garcia cigar. <\/p>\n

Pre-Light: The dark Connecticut Broadleaf maduro wrapper is simply gorgeous with minimal veins and uniform maduro shade throughout the whole wrapper. The cigar has an effortless draw that reveals notes of cedar with a sweet finish.<\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/table>\n

1\/3: After lighting the cigar I am immediately greeted with notes of earth and a rich coca finish. A little further into the first third, black pepper notes begin to appear in conjunction with the earth and coca from the beginning. The retrohale is dominated by notes of pepper with a smooth finish. The first third ends with the bold pepper fading away slightly. It’s easy to notice Pete’s La Casita influence, as well as the Jamie Garcia influence on La Duena. <\/p>\n

\"The<\/a><\/table>\n

2\/3: By the time I burn into the second third of the cigar, the flavors have achieved a harmonious balance. The pepper that was bold in the first third has tapered to the perfect level to compliment the coca and earth notes of the cigar. This flavor continues for the entirety of the second third.<\/p>\n

\"Final<\/a><\/table>\n

Final Third and Parting Thoughts: La Duena finishes on a strong note with a smooth spicy dark chocolate note. La Duena delivers everything My Father promised. The cigar has the pepper of the Jamie Garcia and the rich coca notes of the La Casita. The burn of the cigar was consistent throughout requiring zero touch up. <\/p>\n
